The Government of Malaysia is accepting applications for the Malaysian Government Scholarship 2024 from international students worldwide to study for Master’s and Ph.D. degrees at Malaysian universities. The Malaysian Government aims to attract the best minds from around the world to pursue advanced academic studies in Malaysia.

The Malaysian Government Scholarship is an initiative by the Malaysian Government to bring students from around the world to pursue advanced academic studies in Malaysia. This scholarship aims to support the Malaysian Government’s effort to attract, motivate, and retain talented human capital from abroad.

MIP Scholarship Fields & Majors:

Almost all academic fields and Majors are available Under the Malaysian Government Scholarship ( MIP Scholarship):

  1. Science and Engineering.
  2. Agriculture and Fisheries.
  3. Economics and Islamic Finance.
  4. Information and Communication Technology.
  5. Biotechnology.
  6. Biosecurity and Food Safety.
  7. Infrastructure and Utility.
  8. Environmental Studies.
  9. Health not including nursing, medicine, clinical pharmacy.

Financial Coverage by Malaysian Government

  1. This scholarship is limited to tuition fees and a monthly living allowance of RM 1,500 per month.
  2. Successful applicants are expected to independently arrange their travel to Malaysia (non-financial provisions). Travel expenses will not be provided by the Government of Malaysia.
  3. All applicants are highly advised to check the expected living expenses in Malaysia.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be no more than 40 years old for Master’s programs and 45 years old for Ph.D. programs.
  • For the Master’s Degree Program, applicants should have obtained a minimum of Second Class Upper (Honours) or a minimum CGPA of 3.5 at the Bachelor’s Degree level.
  • For the Ph.D. Program, applicants should have obtained a minimum CGPA of 3.5 or a very good result at the Master’s degree level in a similar field to their intended Ph.D. study.
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency:
    • Scanned copy of the original proof of English Language Proficiency such as IELTS (minimum total score of 6.5) or TOEFL internet-based test, iBT (minimum total score of 92).
    • Applicants who have obtained degrees with English as the medium of instruction may also be accepted (evidence is required).
  • Submission of a written proposal with a minimum of 1,000 words that is relevant to the field of study.
